Bite Down for Safety's Sake
Written By Raylene Knutson for Frontier Magazine, Issue 03Getting hit in the head is the reality in many sports. The increasing ubiquity of helmets is a testament to that. Whether it be hockey, skiing, cycling, or many others, head protection is everywhere. Far less common is a piece of safety equipment that could do just as much to protect against injuries: the mouthguard.
MLB Toronto Blue Jays player, Jose Bautista swears by the importance of wearing mouthguards for baseball - and one kind of mouthguard in particular.
GuardLab® today announced Toronto Blue Jays outfielder and six time All-Star José “Joey Bats” Bautista as a brand ambassador and the newest member of the custom mouthguard company’s elite athlete advisory board. Bautista started wearing the Lower Performance Mouthguard last year after GuardLab outfitted a number of Blue Jay players using their 3D scanning technology. The neuromuscular guards help with clench absorption, oxygen intake and stabilizing the jaw and neck muscles which supports full body alignment.
