NHL Forward, James van Riemsdyk Gets Down To Business Both On & Off the Ice

Never one to settle for the comfort zone, James van Riemsdyk (JVR) of the Philadelphia Flyers enrolled in a Crossover Into Business program for professional athletes at the prestigious Harvard University during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Always thinking ahead, JVR shares with ABC Action News how he plans to prepare for life away from the rink by becoming involved with a variety of brands as more than just a GuardLab ambassador.

“As my career has gone on, you've seen now we're in the age of athletes being very savvy in the sense of using their influence to be a part of brands, partner with brands, strategically help them accomplish their goals, but also maybe them being more involved in getting equity deals and things like that.”

Officially announced as a  GuardLab Brand Ambassador in 2019, Van Riemsdyk’s passion for protection is undeniable, especially after having gone through an orofacial injury early in his career while playing minor hockey. After experiencing for himself the difference a 3D scanned, custom-fit sports mouthguard can make, JVR believed enough in the brand to become an investor while continuing to spread the word about the importance of custom-fit, quality protection.

We couldn’t be more thrilled to have such a passionate player and businessman on board at GuardLab and we look forward to seeing all of the ventures JVR takes on in the future!
