Got a very specific idea for a mouthguard that you can’t find in any shops? Then make your own custom DIY mouthguard! Today, we’re walking you through the steps that you need to follow to create a personalized mouthguard design at GuardLab. Plus, we’ll share a couple of reasons why choosing GuardLab will result in design of your dreams!
Choose a reputable company.
Your DIY mouthguard is only as good as the brand you order it from. To ensure that your carefully designed mouthguard doesn’t fall apart on the first wear, choose a reputable mouthguard company like Apex so that you know you are getting a quality product.
Go to our mouthguard design builder.
We have made it easy to design your own mouthguard with our custom mouthguard design builder tool. This builder lets you choose the color, upload a custom image, add personalized text and more. You can zoom in and out to view your design close up, undo or redo a change and reset the builder tool to step zero — all with the easy press of a button.
Choose your base color.
If you already know what base color you want for your mouthguard, it makes sense to start with that one so you can choose complementary text if you want. (On the other hand, if you have a specific image in mind that you want to use on your custom mouthguard, skip ahead one step and then come back to this.)
At Apex , you can choose from eight different base colors for your custom boil and bite mouthguard: green, yellow, black, blue, red, pink, white and clear. Keep in mind that the white and clear option will look similar in the design tool, but the clear will be totally transparent in person.
Add your images.
Next, upload the images that you want to use for your custom mouthguard. You can upload images directly from your phone, computer or tablet, as well as Facebook and Instagram. Keep in mind that the higher the resolution of the photo, the clearer the print will be, so upload the crispest, biggest images you can find for the best results.
Try our included graphics.
Our custom mouthguard builder tool also includes a whole series of clipart and graphics that are optimized for mouthguards specifically. Browse our collection of fangs, flags and background graphics to add some extra oomph to your custom DIY mouthguard.
Add text if you want.
The builder also includes a text tool so you can add letters and numbers directly to your mouthguard design. Choose the font type, size, style, alignment and more. You can also browse a selection of glyphs that aren’t available on a standard keyboard and add those to your custom mouthguard design as well.
Save and share your design.
Once you’re happy with your design, click the “save design” button at the bottom of the column. Right next to it is a “share” button that easily allows you to send the design to others via Facebook, Twitter, email, phone messages and even Pinterest, making it easy to get feedback from your friends on your designs. There is also a “PDF” button that allows you to export the design as a PDF file if you want to go old school.
Order your DIY mouthguard.
If you’ve made a decision about which mouthguard design you want, go ahead and select it, and then hit the “add to cart” button at the bottom of the column. Can’t make up your mind? We offer exclusive discounts on purchases of multiple mouthguards — but you’ll only see those discounts once you add the products to your cart.
