How to Design Your Own Mouthguard
Got a very specific idea for a mouthguard that you can’t find in any shops? Then make your own custom DIY mouthguard! Today, we’re walking you through the steps that you need to follow to create a personalized mouthguard design at GuardLab. Plus, we’ll share a couple of reasons why choosing GuardLab will result in design of your dreams!
Choose a reputable company.
Your DIY mouthguard is only as good as the brand you order it from. To ensure that your carefully designed mouthguard doesn’t fall apart on the first wear, choose a reputable mouthguard company like Apex so that you know you are getting a quality product.
Go to our mouthguard design builder.
We have made it easy to design your own mouthguard with our custom mouthguard design builder tool. This builder lets you choose the color, upload a custom image, add personalized text and more. You can zoom in and out to view your design close up, undo or redo a change and reset the builder tool to step zero — all with the easy press of a button.
Choose your base color.
If you already know what base color you want for your mouthguard, it makes sense to start with that one so you can choose complementary text if you want. (On the other hand, if you have a specific image in mind that you want to use on your custom mouthguard, skip ahead one step and then come back to this.)
At Apex , you can choose from eight different base colors for your custom boil and bite mouthguard: green, yellow, black, blue, red, pink, white and clear. Keep in mind that the white and clear option will look similar in the design tool, but the clear will be totally transparent in person.
Add your images.
Next, upload the images that you want to use for your custom mouthguard. You can upload images directly from your phone, computer or tablet, as well as Facebook and Instagram. Keep in mind that the higher the resolution of the photo, the clearer the print will be, so upload the crispest, biggest images you can find for the best results.

You can also browse a selection of glyphs that aren’t available on a standard keyboard and add those to your custom mouthguard design as well.
